The 4WD Guy

The 4WD Guy (aka Peter Kneen) offers a range of short duration or extended 4WD tours and adventures for 4WD tag along vehicles or for limited numbers of passengers who can ride with Peter in the lead vehicle.

On most trips, The 4WD Guy offers basic 4WD driving advice and instruction – if requested - so there is the opportunity to gain driving and trip experience as well as enjoy seeing a new part of the country.

Peter is a member of Access For All and concerned about maintaining access to our National Parks, and meets on a regular basis with National Parks Managers in the region.

Short trips

Most short trips leave from the heritage listed town of Braidwood and range from half day easy standard drives along well maintained forest roads to harder half or full day trips (softroader suitable, or good for novice off road drivers).

Favourite local trips enable you to Experience the Wilderness, walk in rain forests, drive rugged mountain ridges or experience the vastness and remoteness of our fantastic country.

Weekend, or multi-day extended touring

Camping and/or accommodated trips of all standards can be arranged to suit specific needs such as a group of friends with their own 4WDs.

Extended trips have meeting locations to suit those from Sydney and Canberra.

Adventure Tours

We also offer a number of extended mid-winter adventures to the outback, the Red Centre, spring and autumn trips to the Victorian High Country, SE NSW regions and Tasmania.

Cost and conditions - summary

Typical Costs are $150 per tagalong vehicle per day for medium graded trips (slightly more for more difficult trips). Passenger costs (in the lead vehicle – limited to 2 or 3 spaces) are $140 per person as a guide. To run a trip, minimum numbers may be needed and for extended trips early booking will attract a discount – as will a group booking.
